Police look for vehicle tied to hit-and-run crash in southeast Calgary

Calgary police are searching for a vehicle that may be connected to a hit-and-run crash in January that left a woman seriously injured.

Police were called to 52nd Street and 61st Avenue S.E. for reports of a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian and a motorist on the morning of Jan. 19. Investigators say a woman in her 40s was crossing the street when she was struck by a truck.

The woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries, while the truck fled the scene.

Security camera footage from a nearby gas station shows a similar truck, a light-coloured half-ton pulling a flat-bed trailer, pass on 61st Avenue shortly after the incident.

Investigators believe the driver may have information that could assist with the investigation,” police said in a news release.

Anybody with information on the incident is asked to contact the police non-emergency line at 403-266-1234. Tipsters can also contact Crime Stoppers  anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
