Quebec announced on Friday that 13 more deaths had been attributed to COVID-19, bringing its death toll to 17,936.
The province also announced that the number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 dropped by 62 to 1,569.
Of those patients, the number in intensive care decreased by eight to 27.
The province also reported that 419 more COVID-19 cases had been confirmed through PCR testing at its clinics. However, because this method of testing is not accessible to most Quebecers, the case numbers are not representative of the situation in the province.
Some 2,081 health-care workers were absent for reasons related to COVID (preventive withdrawal, isolation, awaiting results, etc.).
